Amptron 48V 100A EGON – Rugged Power for Aussie Adventures! Sick of your old battery chuckin’ a tantrum the moment you switch on anything bigger ...
View full detailsA 48V lithium battery is built for systems that move serious power. Home solar and backup, golf carts and utility EVs, and high-end caravan builds running air con and induction cooking all benefit from the lower current that 48V brings. Our range of 48V LiFePO4 batteries covers rackmount energy storage, sealed golf cart packs and heavy-duty touring batteries, from 30Ah up to 200Ah.
Read moreA 48V LiFePO4 battery runs at 51.2V nominal, so a 100Ah pack stores about 5.12kWh. That's a solid building block for an off-grid system, and most of these batteries can be paralleled to grow capacity later. For complete setups, see our off-grid power systems. For smaller systems, we also stock 24V lithium batteries and 36V lithium batteries.
We stock 48V lithium batteries from brands trusted across Australia:
Rackmount and wall-mount batteries like the Amptron ESS and K2 Pytes V5 are designed for a dry, fixed space in a house or shed. Batteries for carts, boats and vehicles need a sealed case and vibration resistance, so look for IP65 to IP67 and a tough casing.
Many 48V batteries here offer CAN Bus and RS485, which lets a compatible inverter read the battery's state of charge and manage charging. For a home solar system, check that the battery is on your inverter's compatibility list.
Continuous ratings in this range run from 60A up to 250A. At 48V, even 100A is around 5kW, which covers most home and touring loads. If you think you'll want more storage later, check how many batteries can be run in parallel. Most packs here support parallel connection, but not series.

Divide the battery's usable energy by what you're running. For example, the K2 Pytes V5 has 4.86kWh usable, so a fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and a TV averaging 400W would run for roughly 12 hours. Add air con, a kettle or an oven and that drops quickly, which is why many homes run two or more batteries in parallel.
Rackmount batteries are made for a fixed, dry indoor spot and to talk to a solar inverter. The K2 Pytes V5, for example, is IP20 rated and supports up to 16 batteries in parallel. Golf cart batteries are sealed against dust and water, such as the IP67 Amptron BluEdge 48V 78Ah, and are built to handle bumps and the high current of a drive motor.
If it's a 48V hybrid or off-grid inverter, it should, but check the details. Many inverters only allow closed-loop communication with batteries on their approved list. Without that link, the battery can still run in open-loop mode on voltage settings, but you lose accurate state of charge on the inverter. Give us a call with your inverter model and we'll check it.
It depends on the cart, the terrain and how far you go. A smaller pack like the Invicta 48V 30Ah suits light, short use, while 78Ah to 105Ah packs give more range for hilly courses, longer runs or carrying passengers. Check your motor controller's peak current too, as it needs to sit within the battery's continuous and peak ratings.
For a big build, it can be. A 5000W inverter draws around 100A at 48V, compared with over 400A at 12V, so cabling is lighter and runs cooler. You'll need 48V charging gear and a converter for 12V loads, and the batteries are heavy, with the Custom Lithium 48V 100Ah at about 50kg. For most touring setups, 12V or 24V is still simpler.
