The Amptron 48V 78Ah Lithium Battery Is Built for Golf Carts, LSVs and Utility EVs

This model is purpose-built for golf carts, low-speed vehicles and utility EVs. You get a compact steel case (532 × 294 × 222 mm, 37 kg) with handles and mounting points, so it bolts in cleanly and copes with vibration better than a flimsy plastic box.

The BMS looks after low voltage, over voltage, short circuit, over current, reverse polarity and temperature. Alarm and protection status can be read over Bluetooth or the comms ports.

Independently tested to IEC62619, UN38.3 certified, and designed to meet the relevant requirements of AS/NZS 3001.2:2022 (RVs) and AS/NZS 3004.2:2014 (marine).

Smart Monitoring, Phone, Display or Inverter

Watch state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, cell voltages and alarms from the Amptron app. CANbus talks to gear like Victron MultiPlus and GX devices. RS485 is there for the optional 1.9” colour BMS display or installer PC software.

1. How does it compare to the 105Ah golf cart battery?
Less capacity at 78Ah / 3993Wh against 105Ah, but more punch, 160A continuous with a 350A peak for three seconds. It's the lighter, more affordable option if your rounds don't need the full 105Ah.

2. What are the charging specs?
Recommended charge voltage is 57.6V with a maximum of 58.4V. Standard charge current is 20A with 78A the maximum. Operating range is 43.2V to 58.4V, cutting off at 43.2V or when the lowest cell reaches 2.7V.

3. How long will it last?
2,500 cycles at 100% depth of discharge. For a cart used regularly that's years of service rather than the seasons you'd get from lead-acid.
