Yes, if the cart is a 48V system. We stock two purpose-built Amptron golf cart batteries: the Amptron 48V 105Ah 180A Golf Cart Battery and the Amptron 48V 78Ah BlueEdge Lithium Golf Cart Battery. Both run at 51.2V nominal, which is the lithium equivalent of a 48V lead-acid pack.
Match the battery to a 48V cart. A 12V or 24V camping battery is not a drop-in golf cart battery, so don't wire smaller packs together to make up the voltage. The 105Ah gives you more range at about 5.4kWh with 180A continuous discharge. The 78Ah is the lighter option at 37kg, with 160A continuous. Pair either with a compatible 48V Amptron charger from this collection. If you are not sure of the cart voltage, ring us on 1300 902 361 before you order.
Download the Amptron app from your phone's app store, then connect it to your device. You'll see real-time data including voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge. The app also shows historical data and can alert you to issues.
Some Amptron lithium batteries online come with the app pre-paired, but reconnecting is easy if needed. Keep your phone within 10 metres for best connectivity.
Connecting different capacity batteries together causes uneven charging and discharging. The smaller battery works harder and wears out faster. Stick with identical models, capacities, and ages when wiring Amptron batteries in parallel or series. If you need more capacity, match your new unit to your existing one or go for a complete upgrade.
Direct alternator charging isn't ideal for Amptron lithium batteries. Your alternator outputs a variable voltage designed for lead-acid chemistry, not lithium. Install a DC-DC charger between your alternator and battery – it regulates voltage and current properly while protecting your vehicle's electrical system.
If the BMS disconnects, it usually comes down to over/under voltage, excessive current, or temperature extremes. First, let the Amptron lithium battery rest for 10-15 minutes. Check connections for looseness or corrosion. Look at your Bluetooth app to see what triggered the cutoff.
Most times, the BMS resets automatically once conditions normalise. If it keeps cutting out, you've got a system issue: oversized loads, faulty charger settings, or wiring problems. Ring us, and we'll troubleshoot with you.
Depends on your daily power consumption and sunlight hours. A 100Ah Amptron battery stores roughly 1,280Wh of energy. If you use 50Ah daily, you need to replace 640Wh. With 5 hours of decent sun, a 200W panel generates about 700Wh – enough to recharge and run daytime loads. If you’re dealing with cloudy skies, add a 25-30% extra capacity.
