Should I get the 85mm or save weight with the 65mm?
Go 85mm if maximum reach and low-light performance matter more than what's on your back — 60x and a big objective is a different tool to 45x and 65mm. Go 65mm if you're walking serious distances or want a lighter tripod. The honest trade-off is half a kilo and ten centimetres of length for a real step up in what you can resolve at distance.

What tripod do I need for this?
A proper one. At 2.17 kg this isn't a scope to perch on a lightweight photo tripod — you'll fight the wobble at 60x and give up.
