HoverAir AQUA Waterproof Drone FAQs
1. Can it really take off and land on water?
Yes. It's IP67 waterproof and corrosion resistant, it floats, and it supports take-off and landing from water. That's what separates it from a standard drone, which is finished the moment it touches down.
2. How does it handle rough conditions?
Level 7 wind resistance and a top speed of 55 km/h, which is a serious wind rating. There are dedicated kayak, paddleboard and surf modes alongside the general flight modes.
3. How accurate is the tracking?
RTK positioning gives centimetre-level accuracy, and the AI tracking follows you hands-free. There are more than ten automated modes including Follow, Dolly Track, Angle Track, Zoom Out, Hover and Bird's Eye, plus automatic return to home.
4. Do I need a licence to fly it?
CASA's sub-2kg excluded category covers recreational flying without a licence, and this drone sits in that bracket. You still have to follow the rules on daylight, visual line of sight, staying below 120m and keeping clear of people and airports. Commercial use has separate requirements, so check casa.gov.au.
