EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger FAQs

1. What does an alternator charger do?
It charges your power station from the vehicle's alternator while you drive, at up to 800W, far quicker than a 12V socket. On a day's driving that's a genuine recharge rather than a trickle.

2. Can it charge my car battery too?
Yes, it has three modes. Charging mode takes 11V–31V in and puts out 40V–60V at up to 800W. Battery maintenance mode tops up your starter battery at up to 100W. Reverse charging mode can push up to 800W back the other way to 13.8V or 27.6V.

3. What protections does it have?
Reverse polarity, overcurrent and short-circuit protection, with a 125A rated fuse. The input draws up to 76A, so your vehicle's wiring needs to be rated for it, have it fitted by an auto electrician if you're unsure.

4. How big is it?
242 × 194 × 35mm and 2.3kg, so it's slim enough to mount under a seat or behind a panel.
