1. Will this kit fit my fire pump?
The suction hose is 38mm, which is 1.5” — the suction size used across the Bianco Vulcan engine driven fire pump range. If your pump has a different suction port, this kit won't connect without adapters. Ring us on 1300 902 361 with your pump model and we'll confirm before you order.
2. What's the strainer for?
It sits on the end of the suction hose and stops leaves, grit and debris being drawn into the pump. Running a fire pump without one is how impellers get damaged, particularly when you're drawing from a dam or creek rather than a clean tank.
3. Is 6 metres of delivery hose enough?
It depends on your setup. Six metres gives you useful reach around the pump without having to move it, and the nozzle adds throw beyond that. If you need to cover a larger area you may want additional delivery hose, which you can run from the pump's other discharge ports.
4. Why does the suction hose matter as much as the delivery hose?
Because a pump can only push what it can draw. A collapsed, undersized or unstrained suction line will starve the pump no matter how good it is. The 38mm PVC hose here is rated to hold its shape under suction, which cheap garden hose will not.
